Promotion[edit]
Pink announced the album and its lead single 'Walk Me Home' in an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on February 6, 2019.[2] 'Walk Me Home' was released on February 20; that same day, she performed the song as part of a medley at the 2019 Brit Awards.[3] It was called a 'foot-stomping anthem' as well as an 'optimistic departure' from the content of her previous album, Beautiful Trauma.[4] On March 21, 2019, the 'Walk Me Home' music video was premiered.[5] On March 28, she released 'Hustle', alongside the album's pre-order. On April 11, the Cash Cash collaboration 'Can We Pretend' was released as a promotional single.[6][7] The following month, it was released as a radio single in Australia.[8] On April 22, 2019, the album’s title track was released.[9] That same day, she performed 'Walk Me Home' on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.[10] On April 26, she was interviewed on Today Show.[11]
Title and artwork[edit]
The album's cover was unveiled on February 28, after a number of teasers on her social media for several days.[12][13][14][15] Photographed by Andrew Macpherson and designed by Hueman, the image features an artistic and colorful representation of the left side of Pink's face.[16][17] It includes an array of warm and bright colors, giving the sense of a watercolor-like painting.[18][15] During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the singer said that she decided to name the album Hurts 2B Human because the title track 'hit a string in [her] that just resonates' and it felt 'the most true to what's going on right now.'[19] 'If you choose to remain open-hearted, then it’s just going to hurt for a while. I think that’s a good thing because that’s what creates change and I think we’re starting to see change and see people show up and fight back', added Pink.[19]

In Australia, Hurts 2B Human debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, becoming Pink's sixth chart-topping album in the nation.[42][43] The album marked her forty-first week atop the chart, breaking her tie with Adele and ranking her at number five on the list of artists with most accumulated weeks at the top.[43] It also gave her the distinction of being the female artist with the most cumulative weeks at number one, as well as placing her second on the list of female artists with the most chart-topping albums, only behind Madonna.[43] Subsequently, Hurts 2B Human spent a total of three weeks at number on the chart,[42] and was certified Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for shipments of 35,000 copies during its third week.[44] In New Zealand, the record also debuted at the top spot on the Official New Zealand Music Chart, and became Pink's third number one album.[45] It recevied a Gold certification from the Recorded Music NZ for shipments of over 7,500 units.[46]
